Anna Hazare Fast unto death for Jan Lok Pal Bill Fourth Day Report
– Jail Bharo Andolan on April 12 and April 13

Pranab Mukherjee appealed to Anna Hazare to end his hunger strike.

Anna Hazare has called for Jail Bharo Aandolan on April 12 and April 13.

Today CPI declared full support to Anna Hazare and Jan Lok Pal Bill.
CPI told the government to accept Jan Lok Pal Bill drafted by social activists and legal luminaries and table it in Parliament.

The CPI(M) and CPI-ML (Liberation) have also come out in support of Anna Hazare.

Shivsena has also supported Anna Hazare.


The government has already initiated talks with Hazare on formation of a joint committee to draft the Lokpal Bill but failed to reach a consensus on some important aspects.

Anna Hazare has requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to appoint a non-political person as the chairman of the proposed 50:50 Committee to draft a new and stricter anti-corruption bill.

They have discussed follow issues regarding Joint Committee.

Government agreed to setup a joint drafting committee consisting of 50 per cent members from civil society. 50:50 Participation of members from civil society and politicians.

(2)
Government agreed that this committee should prepare its draft law by such time so that it could be presented in the monsoon session of Parliament.

(3)
Government offered and said Mr Pranab Mukherjee to head this committee. I request you to reconsider as these people are demanding a non-political person.

(4)
Despite an outcry for me to become the chairperson, I am not interested in holding any position.

(5)
I propose the name/s of Justice J S Verma or Justice Santosh Hegde to be made the Chairperson," he wrote in the letter.

Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde refused to become the chairperson of the committee.

Government is not ready to issue an official notification for the constitution of the committee.
Government Promise has no legal back ground or validity without notification.

Government said that committee head will be a senior minister senior politician.
The Government stuck to its proposal to keep Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee as the Chairman of the committee.
Government also said that government will not issue notification regarding
Joint committee.

Government just offered and said they can only issue a letter from law ministry regarding committee.

Kapil Sibal and Swami Agnivesh will meet again on Friday evening to reach a consensus on deciding the chairman for the committee to redraft the Lokpal Bill.
A meeting of Sibal with activists Swami Agnivesh and Arvind Kejriwal scheduled at 6 PM today.

A special CBI court fixed April 27 as the next date of hearing in the Babri mosque demolition case.
As lawyers had boycotted their work today in support to social activist Anna Hazare, Chief Judicial Magistrate of the special court Vishnu Prasad Agarwal posted the matter for April 27.

Ramdev Baba also supported Anna Hazare for Jan Lok pal bill.
Big B also supported Anna Hazare for Jan Lok Pal Bill.
Adi Godrej, the Chairman of the Godrej Group, also extended support to Hazare, who has been sitting on a fast-unto-death since Tuesday
Director General of industry chamber Ficci, Rajiv Kumar, said, "We completely support Hazare in his fight against corruption


More and More people are joining Anna from cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Patna, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Ranchi, Pune, Nashik, Guwahati, Jaipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Jammu and Srinagar.


We will remove poverty, we will remove corruption we are listening these things from last sixty years.

the support Mr Anna Hazare is getting from the people of every walk of life clearly shows that people are just desperate to see the change in system n situations here.....

Lets hope for the best....though its not that easy.

hey Sm,

You know what this morning I was talking to my parents in India and as we were talking about general topics somehow the discussion led to Anna Hazare. I had no clue of what they were talking about. After I hung up, I knew where exactly I had to go to follow everything that has been happening about Anna Hazare- you got that right! yes, I am talking about your blog. I knew for sure I would get a lot of info here and yes I was not wrong. I have just got to know all that I needed to know. Thank you. You do a great job by compiling news from Indian politics. Great job indeed.
